Learn more skills, make new friends and be part of something amazing by taking a course in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. The WEA provides 7000 hours of courses each year across venues throughout the city and county.
Our goal is to make learning part of everyone’s lives; we reach people that conventional adult education cannot. We are in the heart of communities around the county. Our latest survey shows that our students are 98% very satisfied or satisfied with the skills they’ve developed and 94% have shared this new knowledge with friends and family.
What do we offer?

Who do we work with?
We work with partner organisations within communities including a women’s centre in the heart of Highfields area, a day centre on the St. Matthews estate and a community centre in the Spinney ward to
- offer an opportunity to increase social cohesion and mobility to improve productivity
- tackle mental and physical health issues and
- extend employment possibilities.
We also work with key strategic partners, like Turning Point and Leicester Ageing Together to ensure that people in the most disadvantaged communities are able to access an offer of education which would help them combat social isolation, poverty and give them the opportunity to improve their lives.
